WhatsApp New Feature Has Appeared
WhatsApp has just launched a new feature that can fit more users in one group. The Community feature is a platform for users with similar interests to connect with each other, and can accommodate up to 5,000 members. "WhatsApp is a private messaging application, but we want to maintain closeness, privacy, conversation in the application with the community we are familiar with," said WhatsApp Indonesia Public Policy Manager Esther Samboh during a virtual press briefing recently.
This Community feature, he said, is a collection of groups on WhatsApp. However, with these new features, it can be collected and embedded on one platform. For example, this feature is suitable for various groups, from schools, housing, or apartments, offices and so on. One community can accommodate up to 50 groups at once with 5,000 members. Esther describes the Community as a wall magazine at school. The feature can be used as a place to announce or disseminate certain information one door from a certain group or community. "For example, if you go to school there is a term walled or bulletin board. In this feature, the admin can easily make announcements. So there can be up to 5,000 members, but only admins can post there," he explained. But for the record, only admins can share announcements.
The contents can be in the form of messages, photos, videos and documents with a maximum size of 2 GB once sent. Admin also has full power to be able to delete messages that are considered inappropriate in the channel. In addition, the Community has a video call feature with 32 participants with one access and also a polling system using chat.
